Caribbean Stud Poker is a poker game that is played at casino tables and unlike normal or standard poker, Caribbean is played versus the house instead of other, real players. It doesn’t involve deep strategical aspects and there is no such thing as bluffing. It’s believed that Casino Poker was invented by gambling and poker guru David Sklansky around 1982. Rules & Gameplay
Caribbean Poker Rules can vary a little depending on location you are playing at. However, ground rules are the same at all places. Hands are valued as in a normal Stud Poker Game.
Playing Caribbean Poker Online is really simple. Once table opens, you’ll see three circle shaped boxes – Call, Ante and Jackpot. Last one might not be offered at all types of this game. The only real decision now is the amount of money you want to bet. Remember that ”Ante” bet will have to be doubled, if you’ll want to proceed in the hand so if you decide to bet $50 on ante, you’ll have to put $100 more in order to finish the hand.
Once you are done with bet amount, hit the ”Deal” button and you’ll get 5 cards dealt face up. Dealer will also deal 5 cards to himself with one being face up. Now there’s a choice to make – do you want to continue with your hand or not. If you continue (Call), bet of 2x Ante will be required and dealer will show his hand instantly after you’ve called. If dealer has a better hand than yours, he wins and you loose all your bets. On the other hand, if you have a better hand there are 2 scenarios that will determine payout amount :
If dealer’s hand qualifies and you win by holding a better combination, both ”Ante” and ”Call” wagers have won and will get paid at the payout odds listed below.
If dealer’s hand doesn’t qualify and you hold a better combination, your ”Ante” bet wins and is paid out at 1:1 odds. ”Call” bet is considered as a push and neither wins or loses.
What determines whether dealer’s hand qualifies or not? In order for it to be considered as a qualified hand, dealer has to either hold a hand equal or better to one pair or has to consist of an ace and a king. AK254 would be a qualifying hand as well as 22567.
Most Online Caribbean Poker games will also offer a progressive jackpot. This can be won by getting a royal flush dealt. In order to qualify you must also wager $1 on the jackpot box. These jackpots range between $20,000 – $300,000 so it’s certainly worth it!

These are the payouts that are paid when you beat the dealer and his hand qualifies. Note that these odds are applied to your ”Call” wagers. Ante bet winnings are paid out at 1:1 (even) odds.

Strategy
Caribbean Poker basic strategy advises that you should always call with one pair or better and a starting hand that consists of an Ace and a King. You should always fold anything less.
